Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Component Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in component engineering and a strong background in managing part specifications, documentation, and supplier quality. This role involves close collaboration with engineering, quality, and material control teams to ensure the highest standards for parts used in our programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generation of Source Control Drawings (SCDs): Develop and manage source control drawings for part specifications and revisions.
  • Supplier Control Documentation Review: Review and validate supplier control documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Part Program Requirements Compliance: Ensure all program-approved parts lists, nonconformance reports, and test documents align with established requirements.
  • Incoming Inspection Data Review: Analyze incoming inspection data to verify component quality.
  • Vendor/Manufacturer QPL CofC: Review and verify the Qualification Parts List (QPL) Certificate of Conformance (CofC) for parts.
  • Part-Specific Data Package: Assemble and manage part-specific data packages for production.
  • Discrepant Material Report (DMR): Generate and resolve DMRs, working with relevant teams to address discrepancies in material quality.
  • Data Management: Maintain electronic databases (e.g., PLM, Access) to log, configure, and store component data.
  • Disposition of Part Issues: Coordinate with Engineering, Material Control, and Quality Assurance to resolve part issues (e.g., GIDEP) and meet performance requirements.
  • EEI Parts Selection & Evaluation: Familiarize with EEE parts selection, characterization, screening, and nuclear radiation requirements for space programs.
  • Compliance with Standards: Ensure compliance with traceability, lot control, and destructive physical analysis (DPA) for critical parts.

Education & Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in component engineering, with a focus on aerospace or space programs.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access Database.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
  • Familiarity with EEE parts selection, screening, and compliance with nuclear radiation requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage part lifecycle data effectively.
