Accounting Manager

A leading Engineering Firm in the Northern Catskills is looking for an Accounting Manager to join the team. This is a successful 25-year-old award-winning Civil Engineering Firm specializing in land development and land survey projects. 

The Accounting Manager will be a vital member of the organization providing financial support managing day-to-day tasks such as creating financial statements, overseeing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reporting, and collections. The ideal candidate will have 3 years in a similar position, possess familiarity with CORE Accounting Software, and bring a warm and sociable personality to the office. The Accounting Manager will be required to work in-office Monday-Friday at our company headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and maintain accurate financial statements.
• Oversee invoicing.
• Accounts Payable.
• Accounts Receivable. 
• Petty cash.
• Manage Payroll.
• Manage tax requirements, quarterlies, etc.
• Oversee Collections.  
• Monitors and mentor administrative staff.
• Oversee negotiation of purchasing for large items.
• General bookkeeping. 
• Meet deadlines and implement office policies.

Desired Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in a similar Accounting Manager role.  
• CORE Accounting Software experience is a big Plus!
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience mentoring junior bookkeepers and administrative staff. 
• Efficient analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
