Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in overseeing the nursing department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards. The ADON will play a pivotal role in managing nursing staff, coordinating patient care, and contributing to the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing nursing services and operations.
- Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including adherence to facility policies and procedures.
- Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans for residents.
- Monitor patient care and outcomes, making adjustments as needed to improve quality of care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Assist in managing nursing department budgets, resources, and supplies.
- Facilitate staff meetings and provide ongoing education and training to nursing staff.
- Address and resolve any patient or staff concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Support the Director of Nursing in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid license in New York.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in a nursing leadership role, preferably in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Strong understanding of nursing practices, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
