Job Description

🐾 What If Veterinary Medicine Felt Like Veterinary Medicine Again? 🐾

Mobile Veterinarian (DVM)

Flexible Part-Time or Full-Time Opportunity

Upper & Midstate South Carolina

Remember when you became a veterinarian because you wanted to help animals?

Before the production quotas.
Before the monthly revenue targets.
Before being asked to squeeze one more appointment into an already packed schedule.
Before every recommendation felt tied to a corporate metric.

If you're feeling burned out by modern veterinary medicine but still love caring for pets and serving clients, this opportunity may be exactly what you've been looking for.

This Isn't Corporate Veterinary Medicine

No production pay.

No non-compete agreements.

No contracts locking you in.

No pressure to upsell services.

No overnight emergencies.

No surgeries.

No dentistry.

No corporate scorecards.

Just quality medicine, meaningful community impact, and the flexibility to practice the way you believe veterinary medicine should be practiced.

Why Veterinarians Love This Role

This mission-driven mobile veterinary organization exists to provide accessible care to pets that might otherwise go without it.

The philosophy is simple:

Patient Care First. Community Service Second. Profit Last.

Your compensation isn't tied to production because your value isn't measured by how much revenue you generate.

Instead, you're paid for your expertise, your judgment, and your commitment to helping animals.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $115/hour
  • Flexible scheduling from 1-4 days per week
  • Available Thursday through Sunday
  • 6-10 hour shifts
  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • CE allowance
  • License renewal fees covered
  • Professional membership fees covered
  • Liability insurance provided
  • Generous PTO
  • No production-based compensation

Whether you're looking for one weekend day per week, a gradual transition away from corporate practice, or a consistent 4-day schedule, this role can be built around your goals.

What Your Day Actually Looks Like

You'll work from a fully equipped mobile veterinary unit alongside an experienced team of veterinary technicians who handle much of the hands-on workflow.

Most days involve visiting 2-4 pre-scheduled community locations providing:

  • Wellness exams
  • Vaccinations
  • Preventative care
  • Client education
  • Community outreach

Your role is focused on medical oversight, patient care, client communication, and mentoring the support team—not running from room to room trying to hit production goals.

You'll start your day either at the home base or meet the team at the first scheduled stop.

No surprise emergencies.

No after-hours calls.

No staying late because a surgery ran over schedule.

Just predictable, rewarding veterinary medicine.

Make a Difference Every Single Day

Last year alone, this organization helped provide veterinary care to more than 40,000 animals that otherwise may not have been seen.

Every day, you'll help bridge the gap for underserved communities while improving the lives of pets and their families.

This is meaningful work with measurable impact.

Who Thrives Here?

This role is ideal for veterinarians who:

  • Are burned out from corporate medicine
  • Want freedom from restrictive contracts and non-competes
  • Miss relationship-based veterinary care
  • Value autonomy and flexibility
  • Want predictable schedules and lower stress
  • Enjoy educating pet owners
  • Like mentoring technicians and support staff
  • Want to continue practicing medicine without sacrificing their quality of life
  • Are considering retirement but aren't quite ready to leave the profession
  • Still love veterinary medicine—they just want to practice it differently

The Bottom Line

You worked too hard to become a veterinarian to spend your career chasing production numbers.

If you're looking for a role where you can focus on patients, serve your community, and rediscover what you loved about veterinary medicine in the first place, we'd love to have a confidential conversation.
