Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager

Location: Baton Rouge, LA

Overview

A well-established and growing CPA firm in Baton Rouge is seeking a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join its leadership team. You will work directly with the firm’s directors to manage tax engagements, oversee client relationships, develop staff and help shape the direction of the tax practice. The role offers significant autonomy and long-term growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review federal and state tax engagements for business and individual clients
• Provide proactive tax planning, consulting and compliance services
• Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for tax clients
• Research and resolve complex tax issues
• Supervise, mentor and develop tax staff and help build your own team
• Review workpapers and returns for quality and accuracy
• Influence workflow, engagement delivery and technology improvements
• Participate in business development and help expand services to existing clients

Qualifications

• Active CPA license required
• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience for Manager; 8+ years preferred for Senior Manager
• Strong knowledge of federal and state taxation
• Experience reviewing returns and supervising staff
• CCH Axcess and/or UltraTax experience preferred
• Construction, real estate, affordable housing/LIHTC, multistate or nonprofit tax experience a plus
