Senior Tax Manager

Location: Jackson, MS

Overview

A nationally recognized accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager in the Jackson, Mississippi metro. A hybrid arrangement is available on request, with some travel (about 15%) to another office in the state.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and strengthen client relationships to support retention
• Provide final technical review of tax returns and documents
• Research tax issues and develop recommendations
• Stay current on changes in tax law and accounting procedures
• Plan, organize and schedule work to ensure all deadlines are met
• Direct and develop staff and supervisors and set budgets
• Build internal and external networks to develop new business
• Manage billing, collections, WIP and write-downs
• Facilitate in-house CPE and training

Qualifications

• CPA, EA or JD required (CPA preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of public accounting experience
• Business development experience in a CPA firm preferred
• Demonstrated leadership and decision-making skills
• Ability to prioritize a heavy workload under pressure
