Tax Manager

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Overview

A growing regional tax, assurance and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its Chattanooga office. You will own client relationships end-to-end, perform technical tax review, and coach and develop the tax team. The role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Develop a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses and keep clients updated on engagement progress and economics
• Perform technical tax review of multiple returns of varying complexity
• Research complex tax issues and recommend creative solutions
• Manage billable hour budgets and delegate tax and research assignments
• Provide direction, coaching, performance feedback and on-the-job training to the tax team
• Generate new business through community involvement, networking and professional events
• Participate in recruiting experienced staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Master's in Tax preferred
• 5+ years of recent accounting firm experience managing multiple tax engagements, scheduling staff and managing workflow
• Significant experience with all types of entity taxes
• CPA certification
• Excellent communication skills
• Travel up to 15%
