Tax Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Overview

A well-established regional accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its core tax practice in Pittsburgh. You will provide tax consulting and compliance services, oversee all aspects of the planning, preparation and review process, maintain relationships with a diverse client base and help leadership identify new opportunities. The firm offers a hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong client relationships on tax consulting and compliance engagements
• Manage engagement workflow, team resources and billing, and review engagement profitability
• Review returns prepared by staff and recommend accuracy improvements and tax savings opportunities
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues and implications
• Work with other practice units to bring industry knowledge and insight to clients
• Provide leadership, counseling and career guidance to the engagement team
• Build relationships through community, prospect and professional organization events
• Stay informed of current and proposed tax legislation and help clients plan for its impact

Qualifications

• CPA, J.D., LL.M. or Master's in Taxation required; Enrolled Agent accepted in lieu of CPA
• Minimum of five years of public accounting tax experience
• Ability to develop business and foster client relationships
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills
• Excellent writing, communication and tax research skills
