Tax Manager

Location: Portland, OR

Overview

A leading national advisory, tax and assurance firm is seeking a Tax Manager in Portland to deliver tax compliance and business advisory services to small business clients. You will work side-by-side with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax, accounting and advisory services for small business clients, including bookkeeping and prepared or compiled financials
• Review and analyze client accounting records and reporting and consult with clients on accounting and business matters
• Lead and plan client engagements, identifying efficiencies and internal control issues
• Manage and build client relationships and identify additional services
• Delegate and oversee work by setting goals, providing resources and scheduling deadlines
• Maintain current knowledge of local, state and federal tax law
• Assist with engagement staffing, billing and collections and help meet profitability targets
• Support the growth and development of team members

Qualifications

• 4-year degree; accounting degree preferred
• CPA, law license or EA
• 5+ years of federal tax compliance and consulting experience in public accounting
• 2+ years of supervisory experience mentoring associates
• Strong management, analytical, project management and communication skills
