Operations Supervisor - Waste & Recycling in Houston

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on, safety-driven Operations Supervisor to oversee daily collection, driver performance, and fleet logistics. In this role, you’ll lead a team of frontline drivers, optimize routing, and ensure we meet our environmental and service goals while maintaining top-tier safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of drivers; conduct safety meetings, performance evaluations, and training.
  • Route Optimization: Monitor daily route efficiency, handle driver call-ins, and deploy field changes as necessary to ensure on-time collection.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations. Ensure pre-trip/post-trip vehicle inspections are completed.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with dispatch, mechanics, and maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Customer Service: Address complex customer inquiries and resolve service-related escalations.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years of operations/supervisory experience in the waste, transportation, or logistics industry.
  • Compliance: Strong understanding of DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • Tech Skills: Proficiency with routing software, dispatch tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • License: Valid Driver's License; CDL (Class B or higher) is highly preferred.
