Senior Energy Transactional Attorney (Energy & Infrastructure)

The Opportunity
We are representing a top-tier national law firm in their search for a Senior Energy Transactional Attorney to join their sophisticated Energy & Natural Resources practice in Boise. This firm is a leader in the renewables and utilities sector, handling high-stakes infrastructure projects across the west and nationally.
This is a premier opportunity for a specialist to step into a high-level transactional role. You will work with a "who’s who" of energy developers, utility companies, and investors, managing the complex contractual frameworks that power the modern grid.
Key Responsibilities
Project Documentation: Lead the drafting and negotiation of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), Interconnection Agreements (including generator, transmission, and load), and Electric Service Agreements.
Regulatory Navigation: Provide high-level counsel on industry-specific regulatory requirements and compliance matters.
Transactional Lead: Manage large-scale energy asset acquisitions, divestitures, and project financing transactions.
Strategic Counsel: Advise clients on transmission service matters and other specialized industry agreements.
Qualifications
Experience: 5–10 years of dedicated energy transactional experience within a sophisticated law firm or corporate legal department.
Specialized Knowledge: Extensive experience with PPAs and Interconnection Agreements is strictly required.
Bar Admission: Active member in good standing of the Idaho State Bar (or the ability to become admitted via reciprocity).
Education: J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record.
Skills: Elite drafting skills and the ability to navigate complex technical and regulatory industry standards.
Compensation & Benefits
Estimated Salary Range: $180,000 – $240,000
Incentives: Significant performance-based bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package (401k, premium health, etc.).
Relocation: Potential relocation assistance for highly qualified candidates looking to move to the Boise area.
