Tax Manager
Location: Huntsville, AL
Overview
a long-established, nationally ranked regional CPA firm in the Southeast is seeking a Tax Manager for its tax practice to lead client engagements, tax planning and review.
Responsibilities
- Supervise client work to ensure delivery within time, scope and budget
- Manage engagement and client expectations and lead client meetings
- Assess issue materiality and client risk tolerance; present ideas that lead to additional services
- Research and review work papers for book-to-tax differences and apply tax law to client circumstances
- Apply tax planning concepts and identify savings and risk-reduction opportunities
- Review research findings, returns and work papers for consistency with firm policy and professional standards (AICPA ethics, Circular 230, §6694)
- Pursue business development through new and existing contacts
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required; Master's preferred
- CPA required
- 5+ years of tax experience
- Comprehensive understanding of tax code and rules
- Experience preparing returns and researching complex tax issues
- Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
