Commercial Litigation Associate (3–7 Years Call)

Location: Vancouver, BC
Compensation: $145,000–$215,000

The Opportunity

A leading global law firm is seeking a talented mid-level litigation associate to join its Vancouver office. This is an opportunity to work alongside a highly regarded disputes team handling sophisticated litigation matters for prominent domestic and international clients.

The successful candidate will join a busy, collaborative, and high-performing group while maintaining significant responsibility and autonomy over their files.

Practice Areas

You will work on a broad range of disputes, including:

• Commercial litigation
• International arbitration
• Fraud and asset recovery
• Construction litigation
• Projects disputes
• Environmental litigation

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage litigation matters with minimal supervision
• Draft pleadings, applications, factums, briefs, and other litigation materials
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies
• Navigate British Columbia court procedures, filings, and practice requirements
• Participate in mediations, arbitrations, discoveries, and court proceedings
• Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical legal advice
• Collaborate with lawyers across practice groups on complex matters

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of commercial litigation experience
• Strong familiarity with British Columbia court procedures and filings
• Excellent advocacy, analytical, and legal writing skills
• Proven ability to manage files independently while meeting deadlines
• Strong client communication and relationship management skills
• Experience working with sophisticated clients across multiple industries is preferred
• Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment
