Commercial Drywall Estimator
An established specialty contractor serving the East Metro is adding a Commercial Drywall Estimator to its preconstruction team. This role is focused on pricing interior systems work, including drywall, framing, and ceilings, for commercial, institutional, and healthcare projects across the Twin Cities.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete accurate takeoffs for drywall, metal studs, acoustical ceilings, and insulation using On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam Revu, or comparable tools
- Read and interpret drawings, specs, and bid documents to fully define scope
- Build labor production rates and material costs into complete, competitive estimates
- Gather and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Write bid proposals with clear qualifications and exclusions, and follow up with GCs after bid day
- Price RFIs, alternates, and change orders, and support a smooth turnover to project management
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years estimating commercial drywall, interiors, or related specialty scopes
- Experience bidding projects of $1M+ preferred
- Solid understanding of framing, gypsum board assemblies, ACT, and fire/sound-rated systems
- Comfortable with takeoff software and Excel
- Organized, analytical, and a clear communicator
- Construction Management degree or equivalent field experience is a plus
