CNC Machinist (Mazak) – Costa Mesa, CA

An established industrial valve manufacturer is hiring an experienced CNC Machinist to set up, operate and adjust Mazak CNC equipment in a production machine shop. This is a full-time, onsite role reporting to the Machine Shop Supervisor.

Pay: $20–$30/hr, depending on experience

Shifts: Day shift 5:00am–1:30pm or Night shift 1:30pm–10:30pm

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and adjust programs and offsets on Mazak CNC multi-task horizontal machining centers, mills, lathes and VTLs
• Work from engineering specifications, production drawings, procedures and verbal instructions
• Inspect work in process for conformance to quality and production standards using precision measuring tools
• Change over settings for various production runs
• Load and unload parts using jib and bridge cranes with safe hitching and rigging practices
• Deburr parts, keep accurate production records and maintain a clean, safe work area

Requirements

• 2–5 years of Mazak CNC setup and operation (horizontal machining centers, mills, lathes, VTLs) in a production environment
• Working knowledge of GD&T and the ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Skilled with precision measurement and hand tools
• Crane, hitching and rigging experience preferred
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs; own machinist's tools may be required; safety shoes required
