Tax Senior Manager

Location: Columbia, SC

Overview

A regional tax, audit and advisory firm consistently recognized among the best in public accounting is seeking a Tax Senior Manager in Columbia, South Carolina. You will be a trusted advisor to clients on a wide range of tax and business issues and help grow and lead a service-oriented, technically strong team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client contact and keep clients updated on engagement progress
• Advise clients on the tax implications of business objectives and recommend alternatives
• Manage planning, administration and conclusion of client engagements
• Ensure returns are ready for final partner signoff
• Supervise preparation of tax accrual workpapers
• Handle escalated questions and audits from federal and state agencies
• Monitor tax law developments and share relevant updates with the team
• Contribute to practice growth through business development, presentations and training
• Mentor managers and participate in performance management

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance
• CPA license required
• 7-12 years of public accounting experience preferred
• Minimum two years of experience in a manager role
• Knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
