Senior Tax Manager

Location: Tucson, AZ

Overview

A national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for a long-established Tucson practice serving a diverse client base across many industries and entity types. You will provide strategic leadership for the tax practice, oversee complex engagements, drive tax planning and develop a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for tax services, client engagements and practice operations
• Lead, mentor and develop managers, seniors and staff
• Review complex federal, state, local and international returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations and trusts
• Serve as the technical resource on complex tax matters and law changes
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies and advise on transactions and restructurings
• Manage tax audits, examinations and controversy matters and act as liaison with taxing authorities
• Oversee income tax provision work (ASC 740) when applicable
• Build client relationships and support business development and practice growth

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Master's in Taxation preferred
• Active CPA license required
• 7-10 years of progressive tax experience with significant leadership experience
• Public accounting, corporate tax or combined experience
• Experience with tax audits and controversy; ASC 740 knowledge preferred
• Proficiency with CCH Axcess, ONESOURCE or similar
• Business development and client relationship experience
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
