Tax Manager

Location: Austin, TX

Overview

One of the nation’s leading audit, tax and advisory firms is seeking a Tax Manager in Austin. You will manage multiple tax projects and be responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely completion of client assignments, using advanced technical skills and well-developed supervisory skills. The role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for all phases of engagements, including supervising associates, planning, scheduling and staffing
• Review and/or prepare Forms 1065, 1040, 1120 and 1120-S, quarterly estimates, extensions and year-end projections
• Perform technical tax review and approval of complex returns and governmental tax examinations
• Identify and research technical issues to ensure compliance with federal, state and local tax laws
• Delegate and manage tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities as needed
• Serve clients in a consultative role and identify value-added services
• Own and monitor client relationships and communicate engagement progress and resolutions

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting experience
• Active CPA license
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's preferred
• Extensive knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code and other tax laws, regulations and guidance
• Strong organizational and time management skills across multiple engagements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
