Structural Steel Project Manager
(AISC Fabrication)
A successful Steel Fabricator that is looking to add a seasoned Steel Project Manager to their team. The right candidate would have experience in structural steel fabrication and/or erection. Our client company fabricates structural steel for multiple projects in commercial construction.
Responsibilities of Structural Steel Project Manager:
- Manage structural and miscellaneous steel projects from cradle to grave.
- Ensure all contractual terms and obligations are met.
- Participate in contract negotiations and dispute resolution.
- Communicate with clients to address job needs and improve customer satisfaction.
- Interpret contract drawings, specifications, bulletins, and addendums.
- Coordinate with contractors, erectors, suppliers, and vendors to resolve barriers.
- Prepare cost estimates for change orders and drawing revisions.
- Purchase buyout items such as joists, decking, grating, and related materials.
- Create and manage RFIs, change orders, submittals, and project correspondence.
- Monitor project costs, profitability, schedules, and budgets.
- Visit job sites as required, including limited out-of-state travel.
- Develop and maintain customer relationships for future work.
Requirements of Structural Steel Project Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering preferred.
- Proven experience and strong knowledge in project management.
- Familiarity with contract management processes.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
- Experience supervising cross-functional teams and managing resources.
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and Tekla PowerFab (preferred).
- Knowledge of building codes and standards for structural and miscellaneous steel.
Compensation/Benefits for Structural Steel Project Manager:
- $90,000 - $120,000+ base salary
