A dynamic, high-growth civil litigation boutique law firm located in Houston, Texas, is seeking a talented and driven Commercial Litigation Attorney. This full-time position is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and is looking to handle a diverse, balanced caseload.
The incoming attorney will split their practice evenly, dedicating at least 50% of their time to personal injury litigation, with the remainder focused on complex commercial litigation matters. The firm's collaborative team brings together a wealth of elite experience from public service, academia, large law firms, and prominent boutique personal injury firms.
Key Responsibilities

- Litigation & Case Management: Manage complex commercial disputes (including breach of contract, corporate governance, IP, M&A, securities law, and antitrust) alongside a robust personal injury docket. Oversee all lifecycle stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, witness prep, trial, and post-trial proceedings.
- Drafting & Legal Analysis: Conduct exhaustive legal research to apply complex legal principles to client matters. Prepare high-quality pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery filings while ensuring strict procedural compliance.
- Strategic Counsel & Negotiations: Provide sophisticated advice on litigation strategy, risk management, and case evaluations. Lead settlement discussions to secure favorable client outcomes when appropriate.
- Collaboration & Operations: Partner closely with co-counsel, support staff, clients, and expert witnesses to execute tailored litigation strategies. Maintain meticulous time records to support accurate client invoicing.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensure: Active Texas Bar membership in good standing.
- Experience: 2–4 years of dedicated experience in commercial litigation and/or personal injury litigation.
- Courtroom Exposure: Proven experience handling depositions, evidentiary hearings, legal arguments, and direct/cross-examinations. Experience with trial preparation and managing high-stakes litigation is highly preferred.
- Core Competencies: Strong written and verbal communication skills; exceptional organizational habits and sharp attention to detail.
- Software & Collaboration: Proficiency with standard legal research tools and litigation software. Ability to work autonomously while remaining a highly collaborative team player and mentor.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $145,000 to $165,000 (commensurate with experience).
- Benefits: Comprehensive package featuring firm-paid health benefits.
- Additional Perks: Opportunity to purchase a full suite of ancillary benefits (including dental, vision, etc.) and access to firm retirement plan options.
