Commercial Mechanical Estimator
We are seeking a results-oriented Commercial Mechanical Estimator with progressive estimating experience in mechanical construction. Join a Fort Worth market contractor with 20+ years delivering HVAC piping, Process Piping, sheet metal, and full lifecycle mechanical services for healthcare facilities, sports venues, airports, educational facilities, hospitality, office buildings and more.
What You Will Do
- Prepare Sheet Metal, Plumbing, HVAC piping, and Process Piping estimates
- Lead the mechanical portion of estimates and ensure that scopes are coordinated and complete
- Solicit subcontractors during the bidding process and organize information post-bid for future reference
- Review and understand narratives, plans and specifications to ensure alignment between pricing and the scope of work
- Communicate with project leads to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients and subcontractors/vendors
- Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors and suppliers and coordinate scopes of work across disciplines
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including current information on prices from suppliers
- Supports other department personnel as required
- Maintain library of project job costs for use in future project estimates
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
- Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs
What We Expect
- 3–5+ years Commercial Mechanical estimating experience
- Proficiency reading blueprints, specifications, and mechanical details
- Familiarity with HVAC equipment, chillers, rooftop units, pumps, VAV/controls, and piping systems
- Strong analytical skills, organized documentation, and estimating software literacy
- Coachable, detail-oriented, team-focused
