We are looking to identify a Public Law Attorney to join a growing and stable practice in Akron, Ohio.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a background in municipal or public sector work seeking a flexible, lower-billable environment with long-term stability and meaningful client interaction.

Position: Public Law Attorney (2+ Years)

About the Role

This role focuses on representing public sector clients and municipalities across a range of legal matters, including regulatory, administrative, and advisory work. The position offers a balanced workload, direct client engagement, and exposure to a wide variety of public law issues.

Practice Focus

• Public records requests and compliance
• Drafting ordinances, policies, and legislation
• Administrative appeals and hearings
• Zoning and land use enforcement
• Employment law matters within public entities
• General municipal representation
• Litigation support as needed

Responsibilities

• Advise municipalities and public entities on legal and regulatory matters
• Draft and review ordinances, policies, and legislative materials
• Handle public records and compliance requests
• Represent clients in administrative proceedings and appeals
• Support zoning and land use enforcement issues
• Provide general legal counsel to public sector clients

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in public law or related practice areas
• Background with:
• City or county legal departments
• Public sector advisory or litigation work
• Firms representing municipalities or public entities
• Strong drafting and analytical skills
• Ability to manage matters independently
• Ohio Bar admission required
