Job Description

Take the lead on new business for an AISC-certified Michigan steel erector that competes for large Midwest projects of 5,000+ tons. This permanent full-time Business Development Manager role pays $100,000-$200,000 per annum plus bonus incentives and includes Midwest travel.

Key duties

• Uncover steel erection work with owners and general contractors in Midwest markets
• Shape pursuit strategy for structural steel packages on 5,000+ ton jobs
• Monitor competitors, bid schedules, and the Midwest project pipeline
• Act as the voice of an AISC-certified Michigan erector with clients and at industry events
• Travel around the Midwest to move pursuits forward and grow client relationships

Background needed

• Steel erection, structural steel, or heavy construction background in business development or sales
• A record of pursuing and landing large-tonnage Midwest projects
• Relationships with general contractors, fabricators, or owners preferred
• Willing to travel throughout the Midwest
• Strong communicator who converts pipeline into awarded work
