Job Description

Overview

We're seeking a Machine Design Engineer with 3–5 years of experience to design custom automated machinery used in complex manufacturing environments. This role involves hands-on work with 3D modeling, motion systems, and component selection in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design custom automation systems, including material handling and assembly equipment

  • Create 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks

  • Select mechanical components, materials, pneumatics, and actuators

  • Collaborate with controls engineers and project teams

  • Support machine build and commissioning

  • Conduct risk analysis and ensure regulatory compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or related field

  • 3–5 years’ mechanical design experience, preferably in automation or machinery

  • Strong proficiency with SolidWorks

  • Knowledge of GD&T, FMEA, and design for manufacturability

  • Familiarity with pneumatic/hydraulic systems

  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to PLCs, HMIs, and systems integration
