Position Overview The Commercial Drywall Estimator plays a critical role in the preconstruction process, providing accurate and timely cost estimates for commercial drywall and ceiling projects. This individual will work closely with project managers, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure bids are competitive and thorough.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for drywall, acoustical ceilings, metal framing, and related scopes.
Utilize On-Screen Takeoff software to perform digital takeoffs.
Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bid packages.
Coordinate and communicate with general contractors, suppliers, and internal project management teams.
Review and verify subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and completeness.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and value engineering discussions as needed.
Maintain accurate and organized estimating records for ongoing and completed projects.
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial drywall estimating.
Proficiency with On-Screen Takeoff is required.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and building codes.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids simultaneously.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and analytical thinking.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $100,000–$130,000 (Based on Experience)
