Field Engineer – Bridge Construction
We are seeking a Field Engineer with experience in bridge construction to support field operations on complex infrastructure projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field crews to ensure work is executed safely, accurately, and in alignment with project plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support daily field operations on bridge construction projects (DOT, highway, structural)
- Interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Perform layout, surveying, and field measurements
- Track quantities, production, and progress in the field
- Assist with scheduling, sequencing, and coordination of subcontractors
- Prepare RFIs, submittals, and as-built documentation
- Monitor quality control and ensure compliance with project standards
- Enforce safety protocols and support site safety initiatives
- Coordinate with project management, inspectors, and client representatives
Qualifications:
- 2–6+ years of experience in heavy civil or bridge construction
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
- Experience with bridges (steel, concrete, girder, or segmental) strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Familiarity with DOT standards and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in construction software (Bluebeam, Procore, HCSS, or similar) is a plus
- Willingness to work in the field and travel as needed
