A growing infrastructure contractor is looking for a Project Engineer with 1–5 years of civil, heavy civil, or infrastructure construction experience who wants to gain hands-on project experience and ultimately grow into a Project Manager role.

This is a traveling position, but travel is regional to your respective office. Candidates must live in or be willing to relocate to the Raleigh, Austin, or Phoenix area and be comfortable traveling up to approximately 60% of the time. Trips may last up to two weeks at a time, with travel, lodging, and per diem paid by the company.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents on major infrastructure restoration and repair projects
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, documentation, and cost tracking
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders
  • Review plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
  • Help track project progress, budgets, materials, and schedules
  • Spend time both in the field and on the project management side of the business
  • Learn the full project lifecycle while preparing to advance into a Project Manager position

What They're Looking For

  • 1–5 years of construction experience
  • Background in civil, heavy civil, infrastructure, concrete, transportation, or related construction
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but relevant field experience is highly valued
  • Willingness and ability to travel regionally up to approximately 60%
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Motivated to learn and grow into Project Management
  • Team-oriented attitude and willingness to take on responsibility
