Job Summary

We are seeking a high-performing Commercial Building Materials Account Executive to drive new business development across multifamily and commercial construction projects throughout California.

This is a hunter-focused, project-based sales role responsible for selling flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, siding, and interior finish materials to developers, general contractors, and property management firms.

Candidates must be proven producers with a track record of $10M+ annual sales volume in building materials, construction supply, or multifamily project sales.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and close new multifamily and commercial construction opportunities
  • Build relationships with general contractors, developers, and construction decision-makers
  • Sell full-package interior and exterior finish solutions (flooring, tile, cabinets, countertops, siding)
  • Manage full sales cycle from bid through project completion
  • Conduct job site visits, contractor meetings, and pre-construction planning sessions
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of active construction projects
  • Coordinate with estimating, operations, and installation teams
  • Consistently achieve $10M+ annual sales production

Required Experience

  • 3–7+ years of B2B sales in building materials, flooring, or construction supply
  • Proven $10M+ annual sales performance OR equivalent production trajectory
  • Strong experience in multifamily, commercial, or developer-facing sales
  • Hunter mentality with consistent new business development success
  • Ability to manage long, complex project sales cycles
  • Ability to read construction drawings and bid documents

Preferred Background

  • Flooring, tile, carpet, hardwood, or resilient flooring sales
  • Cabinets, countertops, millwork, or siding sales
  • Building materials distribution or contractor supply sales
  • Multifamily or commercial construction project sales
  • Specification sales or project-based account development

Compensation

  • Base salary + uncapped commission
  • Total earnings potential: $150K–$350K+ (top producers exceed this significantly)
  • Vehicle/mileage allowance
  • Full benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)
  • High-growth territory with strong multifamily pipeline

This role is designed for a top-tier hunter who thrives in construction environments, understands multifamily development cycles, and consistently closes large-scale project deals. The ideal candidate is already operating at or near $10M+ annual production and looking for a high-growth territory.
