Senior Tax Manager

Location: Madison, WI

Overview

A leading Wisconsin CPA firm is seeking a Senior Manager for its growing tax team in Madison. Senior managers own complex engagements and client relationships, consult on all topics impacting a client’s business, review work within their area of expertise and sign off on engagements as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted business adviser through direct client communication (50-60% client work)
• Execute engagements from start to finish and ensure budgets are achieved
• Identify process improvement and system enhancement opportunities
• Develop new business and expand services for existing clients
• Assign, train and supervise staff; accountable for staff performance, engagement and retention (about 30%)
• Mentor staff, facilitate professional development courses and deepen expertise in a technical area or industry (10-20%)
• Typical hours of about 55/week in busy season and 40-45/week otherwise

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 10+ years of public accounting experience
• CPA, EA or equivalent certification preferred; eligibility to sit for either exam required
• Role is based in Wisconsin
