Tax Supervisor
Location: Park Ridge, NJ
Overview
A nationally ranked, fast-growing accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Supervisor for its Park Ridge, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Run client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing and completing tax projects to budget
- Supervise, train and mentor staff; perform in-charge role as needed
- Review staff-prepared returns and recommend accuracy and tax savings improvements
- Prepare complex individual, trust and flow-through entity returns
- Research and consult on tax matters
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities
- Develop referral sources and help identify marketing and sales opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation or equivalent preferred
- 4+ years of progressive tax preparation
- CPA license preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ProSystem/CCH tax software
- Technically proficient in corporate, international, federal and state and local tax, with a background in restructuring, M&A, C corporations, partnerships and individuals/trusts
- Strong tax accounting skills, including US GAAP and consolidated and combined returns
- Ability to manage staff on multiple engagements
