Tax Manager

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Overview

A top regional accounting, tax and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its Chattanooga office. You will work with clients to understand their businesses, handle tax compliance, projections, notice responses and special projects, and supervise and develop junior team members while supporting the partners.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary client contact on assigned clients
• Advise clients on the tax implications of business decisions and recommend alternatives
• Manage the planning, administration and conclusion of client engagements
• Perform primary and secondary review of returns and written tax advice
• Supervise preparation of tax workpapers and lead billing activities
• Assist staff with routine questions and audits from federal or state agencies
• Review tax law developments, directly supervise junior staff and conduct in-house training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
• CPA license required
• 7-12 years of public accounting experience preferred
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience
• Knowledge of GAAP and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
