Commercial Banking Relationship Manager (CRE & C&I), Wichita
Tired of telling your best clients "we'll see what credit says"? gpac is recruiting for a confidential client: a well-established, employee-owned community bank that is growing its commercial team in Wichita. Here, lending decisions are made close to home by people who know the market, and the answer is yes far more often than you're used to. Because the bank is employee-owned through an ESOP, the work you do to grow the bank also builds your own ownership stake over time.
This is a producer seat for a lender who likes to hunt. You'll bring your existing book of commercial real estate and C&I relationships and grow it, with the backing of a balance sheet that can handle your larger clients and a team that still treats them personally. You'll own each deal from start to finish: you find the opportunity, analyze the financials, write your own credit presentation, structure terms that work for both the borrower and the bank, and take it to closing. Then you stay on as the client's go-to banker for deposits, treasury and everything else they need.
The upside is real. You'll earn a base salary of $90,000 to $165,000+ plus incentive tied to the business you bring in and close. Add employee ownership and a full benefits package, and you have a role where your book of business pays off for you, not just for the bank.
What you'll bring
- 7 to 10 years in banking, including 3 to 5 years of hands-on commercial lending focused on CRE and C&I (this is not an ag lending role)
- An established, portable book of business in the Wichita market
- A proven record of bringing in new business, not just managing an existing portfolio
- Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to write and defend your own credit memos
- Experience structuring, negotiating and closing commercial loans with little hand-holding
- Involvement in the local business community; a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business is preferred
