About the Role
The Senior Mechanical Estimator leads estimating and preconstruction for mechanical projects, building complete estimates and proposals rather than takeoffs alone.
Responsibilities
• Lead estimating and preconstruction for commercial and industrial mechanical projects
• Develop complete estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal and controls
• Review plans, specifications and contract documents for scope gaps and risk
• Prepare conceptual budgets, hard bids, negotiated proposals and design build estimates
• Solicit, evaluate and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Mentor junior estimators
Required
• Extensive mechanical construction estimating experience, ideally 10+ years
• Strong HVAC, piping and plumbing estimating background
• Understanding of labor productivity, equipment and material pricing
Preferred
• Experience as a Senior Estimator, Chief Estimator, Estimating Manager or Preconstruction Manager
• Design build and negotiated work experience
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Compensation and Benefits
• $110,000 to $150,000, based on experience
