Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to join a well-established Sacramento law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized, intellectually curious legal professional who takes ownership of their work and enjoys solving complex problems.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities, and providing substantive support to attorneys across a variety of sophisticated legal matters. While much of the work involves litigation, this position offers exposure to multiple practice areas and the opportunity to play an important role in delivering exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review, organize, analyze, and manage large volumes of legal documents
  • Conduct legal and factual research
  • Support all phases of discovery, including subpoenas and document productions
  • Cite-check legal authorities
  • Provide substantive support with case management, trial preparation, and legal projects
  • Manage multiple matters and competing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Work closely with attorneys and other team members to anticipate needs and develop practical solutions
  • Provide support across various matters, practice areas, and firm initiatives

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of substantive paralegal or comparable legal support experience
  • Strong litigation experience preferred; candidates with significant experience in other complex legal practice areas are encouraged to apply
  • Demonstrated ability to learn unfamiliar areas of law and legal procedures through research, critical thinking, and initiative
  • Excellent organizational, case-management, and time-management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large volumes of information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
  • Strong technology skills and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Experience with eDiscovery preferred
  • Certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
