Legal Assistant – Family Law – Ogden, Utah    

About the Position

We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our family law practice in Ogden, Utah. The ideal candidate is professional, compassionate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where confidentiality, accuracy, and strong communication are essential.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys helping clients navigate challenging legal matters while providing attorneys with reliable administrative and case-management support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and legal support to family law attorneys
  • Prepare, format, proofread, and file legal documents
  • Assist with pleadings, discovery, correspondence, and court filings
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files
  • Manage calendars, deadlines, hearings, and appointments
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other parties
  • Assist with client intake and case-related communications
  • Coordinate service of legal documents and other case requirements
  • Track case deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Enter and maintain information in the firm’s case-management system
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Perform general administrative duties as needed to support the legal team

 Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or legal secretary preferred
  • Family law experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Professional, empathetic, and client-focused demeanor
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common office technology
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Utah courts and legal filing procedures is a plus
