Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join a growing consumer litigation practice on a fully remote basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil litigation and be interested in developing experience in Lemon Law and consumer protection matters.

Lemon Law experience is not required. The firm is open to attorneys coming from a variety of civil litigation backgrounds who are strong legal writers, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of their cases. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to build specialized experience while handling substantive matters and working in a collaborative, remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Lemon Law and consumer litigation matters from intake through resolution
  • Evaluate claims and develop case strategy
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, demand letters, and other legal documents
  • Handle written discovery, depositions, negotiations, and settlement discussions
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and settlement options
  • Review and analyze vehicle records, repair histories, warranties, and other relevant documentation
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and other proceedings as needed
  • Work collaboratively with paralegals and other attorneys to efficiently advance cases
  • Maintain accurate case records and meet deadlines across a caseload
  • Develop knowledge of California Lemon Law and consumer protection laws

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school preferred
  • Active California Bar license in good standing
  • 2+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
  • Lemon Law experience is not required
  • Experience with discovery, legal research, legal writing, and case management
  • Strong analytical, writing, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage cases independently and prioritize competing deadlines
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
  • Strong client-service skills and a willingness to learn a new area of law
