Position Overview

A highly regarded San Francisco law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Real Estate Associate with 3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions to join its Chambers-ranked Real Estate Group.

The ideal candidate will have experience across a range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including debt financing, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, development work, and title and survey matters. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking meaningful client contact, increasing responsibility, and the opportunity to work closely with experienced real estate attorneys in a sophisticated midsize-firm environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in sophisticated commercial real estate transactions.
  • Assist with acquisitions and dispositions of commercial real estate assets.
  • Handle real estate debt financing transactions.
  • Assist with joint venture transactions and related structuring matters.
  • Support real estate development projects.
  • Review and analyze title reports, surveys, and related real estate documentation.
  • Draft and negotiate purchase and sale agreements, financing documents, joint venture agreements, and other transactional documents.
  • Communicate with clients and opposing counsel regarding transaction matters.
  • Manage significant individual responsibilities while collaborating with attorneys across the firm.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience.
  • Experience with debt financing, joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, development, and/or title and survey matters.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Interest in developing client-facing responsibilities.
  • Superior academic credentials preferred.
  • California Bar admission or eligibility to obtain admission required.

Compensation

  • $252,000–$325,000 base salary, depending on experience and other factors.
  • Competitive benefits package.
  • 1,850-hour annual billable target, including qualifying pro bono and certain administrative time.
  • Significant bonuses available for associates billing 1,950 hours or more.
