Summary: A building materials company is looking for a hands-on Branch / Plant Manager to lead operations, people, and profitability in Michigan. Ideal for a leader who has run a yard, distribution branch, or manufacturing plant in construction materials and knows how to manage through Michigan's seasonal building cycle.

About the Opportunity

GPAC is partnering with a confidential building materials company serving Michigan's residential and commercial construction markets. Based in the Detroit, Grand Rapids, or Lansing area, this leader will run a distribution branch or manufacturing plant, depending on the location, and be responsible for safety, efficiency, customer service, and financial performance.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily operations, including production or yard operations, inventory, warehouse, and delivery
• Plan staffing, inventory, and production around seasonal swings in Michigan construction
• Build a strong safety culture and keep the site compliant with company and regulatory standards, including winter operations
• Hire, train, develop, and manage a team of supervisors, operators, drivers, and staff
• Own the branch or plant P&L, budgets, and key performance metrics
• Work with sales to keep customers happy and grow the business
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and cost control

What You Bring

• 5+ years of operations experience in building materials, lumber, roofing, concrete, or a related manufacturing or distribution setting
• 2+ years in a branch, plant, or operations management role
• P&L experience and a strong grasp of operational metrics
• A proven ability to lead teams and build a safe, accountable culture
• Familiarity with a Michigan market and its contractor and builder base (preferred)
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Lean or continuous-improvement experience is a plus; Michigan's manufacturing background makes this a natural fit for lean-minded leaders
