Position Title: Superintendent

Position Summary
The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field operations on commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards. The Superintendent coordinates subcontractors, manages site logistics, maintains project schedules, and serves as the primary field representative for the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all daily on-site construction activities.
- Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with Project Managers.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA requirements.
- Conduct daily site inspections to verify quality and workmanship standards.
- Lead subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and progress meetings.
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and schedule impacts.
- Review construction documents, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Coordinate inspections with building officials and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain project documentation including daily reports, schedules, and logs.
- Monitor manpower, productivity, and material deliveries.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and achieve client satisfaction.
- Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
Project Experience
The ideal candidate has experience managing commercial construction projects in one or more of the following sectors:
- Automotive dealerships and service facilities
- Entertainment venues, theaters, and recreation centers
- Fitness centers and health clubs
- Grocery stores and supermarkets
- Medical offices, clinics, and healthcare facilities
- Corporate and professional office buildings
- Restaurants and quick-service restaurant (QSR) projects
- Retail stores, shopping centers, and tenant improvements
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial construction superintendent experience (10+ years preferred for Senior Superintendent level).
- Experience managing projects ranging from $5 million to $50+ million.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction means and methods.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
- Proficiency in scheduling and project coordination.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and jobsite safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft Project.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- OSHA 30 Certification.
- First Aid/CPR Certification.
- Ground-up and renovation experience.
- Experience working in occupied facilities.
- LEED project experience is a plus.
