State & Local Tax (SALT) Senior Manager

Overview
a respected, growing regional CPA and advisory firm is seeking a State & Local Tax (SALT) Senior Manager to help clients improve cash flow and reduce risk through state and local tax planning, compliance and controversy work.
Responsibilities
- Serve clients on state and local tax matters, including reviews of operations and exemptions, sales tax and exemption certificate processes, penalty waivers, and negotiations with state tax authorities
- Support audit defense, due diligence reviews, acquisition target vetting and transaction planning
- Manage preparation of a broad range of individual, corporate and other entity returns
- Conduct tax research for complex or unique client situations
- Teach, develop and mentor associates
- Participate in business development and cross-introduce other firm specialists
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry
- CPA license required; MST a plus
- Expert knowledge of individual, partnership and corporate state and local income tax
- Working knowledge of state and local sales and use tax
- Prior experience coaching and training entry-level professionals
- Outstanding communication skills and integrity
