Tax Manager

Location: San Jose, CA

Overview

A national accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Manager in San Jose. You will ensure the efficient, accurate, complete and prompt preparation of client returns and make decisions on all but the most exceptional tax situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review and approval of returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity
• Complete client service assignments within budgeted time
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning, including support for larger audit clients
• Serve as a resource to tax and audit staff on specific tax issues
• Manage tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities as needed
• Ensure a smooth flow of returns through the preparation system
• Participate in practice development through referral sources and community activities
• Develop, coach and train supervising seniors, seniors and staff

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of public accounting experience with progression in tax complexity and research
• Experience with S corporation and LLC returns
• Minimum 1 year supervising tax preparers
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation preferred
• Current, valid CPA license required
