Litigation Associate Attorney – Labor & Employment

 

About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Litigation Associate Attorney to join our Labor & Employment practice group. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience handling employment litigation matters and be comfortable managing cases through all stages of litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who is looking to take on meaningful responsibility, work closely with experienced attorneys and clients, and further develop their employment litigation practice in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

The Litigation Associate will be responsible for handling and assisting with a broad range of labor and employment litigation matters, including:

  • Managing cases through all phases of litigation and case management
  • Conducting and responding to written discovery
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Participating in hearings, conferences, and other court proceedings
  • Assisting with trial preparation and, as appropriate, trial-related matters
  • Conducting legal research and developing litigation strategies
  • Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courts
  • Working independently while collaborating with partners, senior attorneys, and other members of the legal team
  • Managing deadlines, caseloads, and competing priorities effectively

Qualifications

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in and good standing with the California Bar
  • At least 2 years of employment litigation experience
  • Experience handling matters through discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and contribute effectively as part of a team
  • High level of professionalism, judgment, and commitment to client service

Highly Preferred:

  • Experience with wage and hour class actions
  • Experience with Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) litigation
  • Experience handling complex employment disputes and class or representative actions

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Base salary: $140,000–$250,000
  • Performance and/or discretionary bonuses, typically $40,000–$80,000

Billable Hours

The annual billable-hour expectation for this position is 1,800 hours.
