Paving Superintendent – Heavy Highway Construction
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Paving Superintendent to join a well-established and growing heavy civil contractor. This individual will lead field operations on asphalt paving projects while also supporting other scopes of work as needed, including grading, drainage, underground utilities, and roadway construction.

Responsibilities
- Manage daily field operations for asphalt paving projects from mobilization through completion.
- Coordinate crews, equipment, subcontractors, and material deliveries to maintain production schedules.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Owners, and Inspectors throughout project execution.
- Lead and mentor field personnel while promoting a positive safety culture.
- Assist with additional heavy civil operations including:
- Mass grading and earthwork
- Storm drainage systems
- Water and sewer utilities
- Roadway construction
- Site development and infrastructure improvements
- Monitor project progress, manpower, equipment utilization, and productivity.
- Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
- Resolve field challenges and maintain strong communication between field and office teams.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Superintendent within heavy highway or heavy civil construction.
- Strong asphalt paving experience required.
- Experience with grading, drainage, utility installation, and roadway construction preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple crews and subcontractors in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of DOT specifications, roadway construction practices, and heavy equipment operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the assigned region as needed.
