Tax Office Managing Director
Ready to lead an office, not just a department? A well-established regional CPA firm needs a hands-on Tax leader to run a 15-person office, develop the team, and help grow the client base.
About the Role
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 15 tax and support professionals
- Stay hands-on in tax compliance: review and prepare individual, business, and trust returns as needed
- Oversee office operations, workflow, and deadlines through busy season and year-round
- Drive growth by turning leads and referrals into new client relationships
- Serve as the main contact for key clients and the local business community
Qualifications
- CPA or Enrolled Agent (EA) required
- 8+ years of public accounting tax experience, including 3+ years supervising staff
- Proven ability to build and develop a team
- Comfortable with business development and client-facing work
- Strong technical tax knowledge and a "roll up your sleeves" attitude
