A well-established law firm in Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a talented Medical Malpractice Attorney to join its growing litigation team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in litigation and an interest in developing or expanding their practice in medical malpractice, professional liability, and related areas.
What You'll Do
- Manage litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategy
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents
- Analyze medical records, evidence, and complex legal issues
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation
- Assist with or take an active role in trial proceedings
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and other professionals
- Work closely with attorneys and support staff to develop effective litigation strategies
- Maintain organized case files and manage deadlines throughout the litigation process
- Continue developing expertise in medical malpractice and professional liability law
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of litigation experience preferred
- Experience in medical malpractice, professional liability, healthcare litigation, or a related practice area is preferred
- Strong interest in developing a career in medical malpractice litigation will also be considered
- Experience with discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active Indiana Bar license and in good standing
- Strong academic background
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Professional, detail-oriented, and highly motivated
- Desire to grow professionally and take the next step in your legal career
