Job Description

An East Bay fabricator and erector of structural and miscellaneous steel is adding an Estimator to its team. You'll price steel packages from fabrication through erection on light commercial, residential, and industrial projects across Northern California.

Your work:

• Review plans and specifications to spot scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering options
• Build quantity takeoffs and estimates for structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication and erection
• Collect and compare quotes for detailing, erection, coatings, and freight
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals for light commercial, residential, and industrial work
• Work with project managers, the shop, and field crews on constructability and a clean handoff

What you need:

• Steel estimating experience covering fabrication and erection
• Solid blueprint reading skills
• Familiarity with structural and miscellaneous metals packages
• A plus: Tekla EPM, SDS2, or similar estimating software
