Commercial Project Manager

A leading Texas commercial builder is seeking a Project Manager to oversee complex, high profile projects across Texas. This team specializes in higher education, healthcare, and research facilities and is known for delivering high quality, enduring buildings through advanced construction technology and a strong, family oriented culture. The company also self performs key scopes including structural concrete, giving project teams greater control over quality, schedule, and safety.

Position Overview

The Project Manager provides full administrative and technical leadership for major commercial projects and may oversee multiple smaller projects. This role serves as the primary liaison with owners and design teams, ensures projects are delivered on schedule and within budget, and leads on site teams with clarity, consistency, and accountability. Experience managing projects with significant structural concrete scopes is strongly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards
  • Oversee total construction efforts to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule
  • Serve as the main point of contact for owners and design partners
  • Direct and support on site staff to maintain schedule, quality, and cost control
  • Manage financial aspects including contract changes, cost control, projections, and pay applications
  • Lead subcontractor buyout and contract administration
  • Maintain project logs, documentation, and reporting
  • Support planning, scheduling, safety programs, and project communication plans
  • Participate in hiring, training, and development of project team members

Qualifications

  • Four year degree in construction, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with a general contractor building healthcare, higher education, or laboratory projects
  • Experience managing self performed work, including structural concrete
  • Strong understanding of industry practices, processes, and standards
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate project teams
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning abilities
  • Proficiency with MS Office, email, and PDF tools
