Job Description

A family-owned civil concrete contractor in the Siouxland area is looking to add an Estimator / Project Manager due to projected growth. They specialize in heavy highway and utility work and have a strong reputation for quality and teamwork.

Projects are local, typically within a 50-mile radius, offering minimal travel and a great work-life balance.

Position Overview
This role will be responsible for both estimating and managing civil construction projects from bid through completion. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in both office and field settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy highway and utility projects
• Review plans, specifications, and bid documents
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes
• Manage awarded projects including scheduling, budgeting, and coordination
• Work closely with field crews to ensure successful project execution
• Track job costs, productivity, and project progress
• Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of experience in civil concrete construction (heavy highway or utilities preferred)
• Commercial construction experience will also be considered
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
• Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office is preferred
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
