Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate or Junior Partner-level Employment Attorney to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a passion for employment law, a commitment to counseling employers and management teams, and a practical approach to solving workplace challenges.

This position offers the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to employers on a broad range of employment law matters. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Advising employers on employment law compliance, risk mitigation, and workplace best practices.
  • Drafting and reviewing employee handbooks, policies, offer letters, employment agreements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenant agreements.
  • Counseling clients on employee discipline, performance management, and other time-sensitive workplace issues.
  • Assisting employers with leave and accommodation requests and compliance obligations.
  • Advising on wage and hour matters.
  • Representing clients in administrative agency proceedings.
  • Providing practical, business-oriented legal guidance on workplace issues.

The Ideal Candidate Will Demonstrate

  • Strong familiarity with state and federal employment laws.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make difficult decisions.
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex legal issues in a clear, concise, and practical manner.
  • The ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school with a strong academic record.
  • Active admission to practice law in Massachusetts and good standing with the applicable bar (additional state admissions are a plus).
  • 5–8 years of employment law experience representing management-side employers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Executive compensation experience.
  • Experience working with nonprofit organizations.
  • Traditional labor law experience.
