Position Overview

We are seeking a sharp, analytical, and empathetic Employment Law Associate with 2 to 8 years of experience. In this role, you will act as a primary strategic partner for both public and private sector clients, managing a diverse caseload with a high degree of professional autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive legal advice on wage-and-hour compliance, leaves of absence (FMLA/CFRA), and employee discipline.

  • Conduct high-level, independent workplace investigations into sensitive employment matters.

  • Defend clients against FEHA/Title VII claims and represent entities in administrative and regulatory hearings.

  • Create, refine, and update complex employment agreements, comprehensive employee handbooks, and specialized agency policies.

Qualified Candidates Will Possess

  • Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California.

  • 2–8 years of dedicated employment law experience.

  • Prior experience navigating the California Government Code, PERB, or the Brown Act is highly desirable and will fast-track your application.

  • A counselor-focused approach with the ability to translate complex labor statutes into clear, actionable advice for agency leaders and business owners.

  • Proven ability to manage case files and deadlines independently, whether working remotely or in a hybrid structure.
